Acuter MaksyGO-60 Mini Maksutov Telescope with Dobsonian Tabletop Mount

The Acuter MaksyGO-60 is a compact telescope set for first steps in astronomy, classroom activities and exploring the night sky at home. Its 60 mm Maksutov-Cassegrain optics are housed in a short tube and provide a 750 mm focal length. The Moon, Venus and the bright planets make suitable first targets; the small aperture naturally limits views of faint deep-sky objects.

The manual Dobsonian tabletop mount is simple to move and needs no electronics or power. Place it on a sturdy table or another firm support. The supplied 6×21 finder helps locate the desired area of sky. A 90-degree Amici prism presents an upright image for terrestrial viewing, so the telescope can also be used for distant landscape observations in daylight.

The supplied 20 mm and 10 mm eyepieces give 37.5x and 75x magnification. These provide two practical magnification levels for getting started. Focusing is done by moving the primary mirror. A smartphone adapter is included for trying simple afocal photographs; results and ease of use depend on the phone, alignment and observing conditions.

The removable cover is a useful educational feature for schools and curious beginners, as it reveals the internal layout of the Maksutov system and can help explain how the optics work. The set also includes a gift box with a carrying handle. Its low weight and tabletop mount make it easy to take along. The 60 mm aperture is not a substitute for a larger telescope when substantially more resolution or light gathering is needed.
