A lunar atlas designed for use at the eyepiece
The Duplex Moon Atlas combines high-resolution digital lunar mapping with a layout made for telescope observing. Two separate chart sections account for the different views through a refractor with star diagonal and a Newtonian reflector.
Thirty-eight charts cover the lunar near side with consistent shadow placement. Eight libration charts show areas of the far side that become visible from Earth under favourable libration. Named craters, mountains, valleys and rilles, plus an alphabetical index, support identification. The atlas is based on data from NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. The second edition features brighter charts and corrected errors.
Colours are optimised for use with a red torch. Waterproof coated pages lie flat and can be wiped dry.
