Sky-Watcher Nomad-4 – telecentric 4x Barlow for visual observing and astrophotography

The Sky-Watcher Nomad-4 is a premium 2-inch telecentric focal extender. Used with an eyepiece, it increases magnification by a factor of four and is especially useful for detailed views of the Moon and planets. Its four-element optical design uses high-index glass and fully multi-coated lenses to support sharp images, neutral colour rendition and good field correction.

For visual observing

A self-centering brass compression ring holds accessories securely while protecting eyepiece barrels from scratches. The Barlow has a 2-inch barrel with a 2-inch filter thread. The supplied reducer allows use with 1.25-inch eyepieces. Captive locking screws and a safety undercut help keep the extender securely seated in the focuser.

For lunar and planetary imaging

The telecentric four-element optics extend the effective focal length while helping preserve the apochromatic performance of ED and APO telescopes. This makes the Nomad-4 a useful option for high-resolution lunar and planetary imaging. A CCD or astronomy camera can be attached with the included M48 adapter. DSLR use requires an additional M48×0.75 ring matched to the camera bayonet.
