Acuter Solarus-80 Solar Telescope OTA with Integrated Glass Filter

The Acuter Solarus-80 is an 80 mm refractor for white-light solar observing with a permanently integrated glass solar filter. It can be used to view sunspots and photospheric detail, as well as solar eclipses and transits of inner planets. This is an optical tube assembly (OTA); no mount or tripod is included. A suitable mount is required, with side-mounted attachment intended for the tube.

The 400 mm focal length at f/5 and supplied 1.25-inch zoom eyepiece provide 25x, 40x and 80x magnification. A safe solar finder helps with alignment without looking through the telescope toward the Sun. The integrated filter wheel includes red, yellow, blue, green and orange filters plus a neutral-density filter, with an indicator for the selected position. These colour and neutral filters change the appearance; they never replace the integrated solar filter.

The set also includes a 90-degree diagonal, a smartphone camera adapter and a side-mounted 45 mm Vixen dovetail bar. The smartphone itself is not supplied. The optical tube weighs about 1 kg, making it a compact solar instrument to handle. A suitable mount is required separately and is not part of this OTA set.

Solar observing safety: Never look at the Sun through the telescope without the intact, permanently integrated solar filter. Check the filter and its attachment before every session and follow the product manual exactly. Do not observe if the filter is damaged, loose or missing. Eclipse glasses or handheld filters worn in front of the eye are not a substitute for the solar filter designed for telescopes.
