Baader AstroSolar ASTF ClearWhite OD 5.1 – mounted telescope solar filter

This front-mounted filter is designed for white-light solar observation and photography. The AstroSolar ClearWhite Safety Film OD 5.1 is mounted without tension and produces a neutral, clear solar image. The temperature-compensating ASTF housing is designed to help keep the film free from stress as temperatures change.

This version has a 240 mm filter aperture. Check the actual outside diameter of the telescope tube or dew shield before ordering and confirm that it fits one of the inner or outer clamping ranges below. Select the appropriate 10 mm or 20 mm centring pins. The clear aperture is stated separately in the table; compare this measurement with the requirements of your setup before ordering.

Important safety notice

Before every use, check that the filter is undamaged and securely fixed. It must be mounted in front of the telescope objective only. Never use it at the eyepiece, behind the objective or at the focal point. Never look at the Sun without a suitable, undamaged front-mounted solar filter.
