176 targets for binocular observing
Big Binoscout is a practical guide to the night sky through handheld and large binoculars. The second edition presents 176 classic and lesser-known objects in seasonal order. Finder charts, illustrations, object data and advice for urban and rural skies help readers locate and observe each target.
Each entry includes coordinates, size and brightness, a finder chart, an illustration of the view through 10×50 or 20×100 binoculars, and notes on finding, appearance and difficulty. Charts use suitable 6° fields for handheld binoculars and 3° fields for large binoculars. Four additional charts cover 32 southern-sky highlights.
The water-resistant surface and spiral binding suit use outdoors. The second edition adds 12 pages and 32 objects and improves the colour reproduction and information on star patterns.
