Ronald Stoyan’s observing guide takes readers to star clusters, nebulae and galaxies visible through binoculars or a telescope. It presents 345 detailed targets, including 110 Messier objects, selected NGC and IC objects, double stars and variable stars. A further 320 objects are listed with short descriptions and data.
More than 300 drawings show how the objects appear through a telescope. The selection includes recommendations for observers under light-polluted skies as well as experienced observers at dark sites. The guide is coordinated with the Deep Sky Reiseatlas, with cross-references to the relevant charts. The 6th edition adds drawings and updated distance and double-star data.
