DLR Mond-Atlas – printed edition
Martin Knapmeyer’s topographic Moon atlas is based on high-resolution satellite data collected in lunar orbit. Its 88 double-page maps cover the entire near side, combining a digital terrain model from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) with topographic representations. Contour maps use the official International Astronomical Union names; shaded relief maps show the terrain and the terminator at sunrise and sunset.
The atlas also includes profile sections, landing sites of spacecraft that reached the Moon between 1959 and 2025, and an index of 1,400 lunar features. It is designed to help prepare and interpret personal lunar observations while presenting the landscape in precise cartographic form. This listing is the German-language printed edition; the publisher also offers a separate English ebook edition. The moonscout is a compact companion for lunar observing.
