Product overview

The Omegon Premium Moon Filter is a simple but useful accessory for observers who find the Moon uncomfortably bright with larger apertures or during bright lunar phases. Reducing the light level can make observation more relaxed.

Suitable applications

• Lunar observers using 1.25-inch eyepieces
• Beginners looking for a practical accessory
• Observers who want less glare during bright lunar phases

Included equipment

• 1.25-inch filter thread
• Metal cell
• Uniform filter glass
• Neutral reduction of lunar brightness
• Plastic storage case

How to use it

The filter screws into the existing filter thread of a compatible 1.25-inch eyepiece. The eyepiece can then be used normally.

Practical note

A Moon filter does not change magnification. First choose an eyepiece appropriate for the observation, then use the filter only to reduce brightness. With very large apertures or personal preferences, a variable polarising filter may be an interesting alternative.
