Product overview

The Omegon 90/500 is a compact short-focal-length refractor with several useful applications. Its strengths are low to medium magnification, wide fields and use as a guide scope.

Suitable applications

• Wide-field observing
• Travel and terrestrial observing
• Guide scope for astrophotography

Included equipment

• 90 mm aperture and 500 mm focal length
• Achromatic doublet
• 2-inch Crayford focuser
• 1.25-inch reducer adapter
• Tube rings
• GP/Vixen dovetail
• Retractable dew shield

As a guide scope or refractor

The 90 mm aperture offers more potential guide stars than very small guide scopes. Visually, the telescope is particularly useful for large star fields and extended objects.

Practical note

As a fast achromat, visible chromatic aberration should be expected at high magnification. Its clear strength is the wide field.
