Sky-Watcher HAC125DX Mini Astrograph 125/250 mm f/2

The Sky-Watcher HAC125DX is a compact astrograph for wide-field astrophotography. Its Honders Advanced Catadioptric design combines a 125 mm aperture with a 250 mm focal length and a very fast f/2 focal ratio. This short optical tube gathers light quickly and frames large deep-sky objects.

A fast system for deep-sky imaging

The optics are designed for imaging and provide a 16 mm image circle. It is particularly suited to compact cameras with sensors such as IMX533 or IMX585, provided the combined camera and accessory load does not exceed 300 g. Its low weight and compact size make the HAC125DX easy to carry and pair with a suitable existing mount. Compared with slower systems, the f/2 optics can substantially reduce exposure time; actual results depend on the camera, focus, sky conditions and capture settings.

Focusing and mounting

The primary mirror is focused from the rear using a helical focuser. The primary mirror cell is collimatable. Tube rings with a 45 mm dovetail bar and two finder shoes make it easy to mount this compact optical tube. The connection is 1.25 inches; a 1.25-inch adapter and a T2 adapter are included.

Package contents and important note

The package includes the 125 mm HAC optical tube, a dew shield with cable port, a 1.25-inch adapter and a T2 adapter. Camera and mount are not included. Keep the camera within the recommended maximum load of 300 g.
