The Sky-Watcher Nomad-2 is a 2-inch telecentric Barlow lens with a four-element optical design and 2x amplification. For visual use, it doubles an eyepiece's magnification and is suited to lunar and planetary observing when the telescope and observing conditions support the higher magnification.
For imaging, the manufacturer describes the four-element design as providing colour-neutral performance across the image field. A CCD adapter and an M48x0.75 photo adapter are included. DSLR users also need an M48 T-ring matched to their camera mount. According to the manufacturer, the Barlow preserves the apochromatic performance of an ED apochromat.
The brass compression ring centres the eyepiece and protects its barrel. The supplied 1.25-inch adapter also accepts 1.25-inch eyepieces. The 2-inch barrel has a filter thread and a safety groove.
