Sky-Watcher StarTravel 120 AZ3 Refractor Telescope

The Sky-Watcher StarTravel 120 AZ3 combines a generous 120 mm aperture with a compact 600 mm optical tube. Its f/5 achromatic refractor provides a wide field of view and is particularly well suited to star fields, open clusters, bright nebulae and comets. The Moon and planets can also be observed, with the supplied 10 mm and 25 mm eyepieces giving 60x and 24x magnification.

The fully coated two-element lens gathers plenty of light, while the short tube is easy to set up and transport. As is typical of a short-focus achromat, a slight colour fringe can appear around very bright objects. This is not an apochromatic telescope. For daytime nature viewing, the included 45-degree erecting prism presents an upright image.

The manual AZ3 mount moves in altitude and azimuth. Flexible slow-motion controls help you centre and track targets smoothly. The set is quick to use and easy to operate, but it has no GoTo system and does not locate objects automatically. An aluminium tripod with accessory tray is included.

Included: 120 mm StarTravel refractor, AZ3 mount, aluminium tripod with accessory tray, red-dot finder, 45-degree erecting prism, 10 mm and 25 mm eyepieces, and direct DSLR camera connection. The focuser accepts both 2-inch and 1.25-inch accessories.

Safe solar observing requires a suitable solar filter securely fitted over the telescope's front aperture. No solar filter is included. The manufacturer also states that batteries and power supply are not included.
