Sky-Watcher Startravel 150 OTA 150/750 Achromatic Refractor

The Sky-Watcher Startravel 150 OTA is a large-aperture achromat designed for wide fields. Its 150 mm aperture and 750 mm focal length suit comets, expansive star fields, clusters, nebulae and bright galaxies; the Moon and planets can also be observed. The two-element, air-spaced refractor has multi-coated optics. Its relatively short tube can also be used for introductory astrophotography and terrestrial photography.

An achromat may show a colour fringe around very bright targets. This design offers versatile, straightforward optics, but its colour correction is not equivalent to an ED or apochromatic refractor. An optional Amici prism can provide an upright image for daytime viewing. Due to its aperture and tube length, this 150 mm instrument needs a stable mount, which must be chosen separately.

The package includes a 9×50 finder, 10 mm and 25 mm eyepieces, a 1.25-inch diagonal, a focuser accepting 2-inch and 1.25-inch accessories, and a direct DSLR camera connection. This is the optical tube with the listed accessories; mount and tripod are not included. Solar observing is safe only with a suitable solar filter securely fitted over the objective. No solar filter is included.
