Strength and limitation of an f/5 achromat

The fast optical system provides wide fields and short exposures, but bright objects at high magnification show the chromatic aberration typical of achromats.

Practical note

For the Moon and planets, use moderate magnification. For star fields and deep sky, the refractor plays much more strongly to its strengths.
