This filter is an assistant filter, designed for Quark Chromosphere (H-alpha version), intended to reject energy and extend the life time of your Daystar Quark filter.It can be used on 5" or smaller refractors.
Why add a ERF on Quark?
The first filter of Quark is quite small - the solar disk might bigger than it, so the light will heat the filter and its holder. With this 1.25″ ERF filter, you can protect both the filter and filter holder from high temperature.
And dont worry about the ERF itself, it uses B270 optical glass and multi coating, so it will reflect not absorb most energy.
Does it has any other usage?
Yes, this ERF filter also can be used in lunar imaging, it will provide an even brighter image than an IR685 filter while reducing the effect of seeing.
