Dew Heater Strips

Dew heater strips attach to telescope tubes, finders, eyepieces and other optical components. They provide controlled warmth to help delay dew. Length is key: measure the circumference of the intended position and make sure the strip can sit securely without obstructing controls or moving parts. Secondary mirrors and eyepieces have their own sizes and mounting positions.

Also check the power supply and connector. Depending on the model, a strip may run directly from USB or require a separate dew controller. Before ordering, verify the required voltage, connection type and compatibility with any controller you already own. Heating output should suit the optics and observing conditions; excessive warmth is unnecessary. A heater strip will not instantly dry optics that are already fogged, so it is best switched on before or at the start of an observing session.
