Celestron CPC 925 GPS Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope
The CPC 925 combines Celestron’s 235 mm (9.25-inch) Schmidt-Cassegrain optical system with a stable, computer-controlled two-arm fork mount. The telescope is suitable for visual observation, lunar and planetary work and astrophotography. Compared with the 8-inch model, the 9.25-inch aperture collects about 33% more light.
The optical system is designed for use with 2-inch accessories and uses an optimized baffle system to reduce vignetting at the edge of the photographic field. The longer focal length primary mirror and lower magnification secondary mirror provide a flatter image and help reduce coma and off-axis astigmatism. StarBright XLT multi-coatings provide high transmission and bright, high-contrast images.
Astrophotography features
- Optimized primary and secondary mirror design for a flatter field and reduced off-axis aberrations.
- Internal baffle design for improved illumination across the camera sensor.
- Individually matched optics for consistent optical performance.
- Preloaded bearings for smooth focusing and reduced mirror shift.
- Autoguider connection for long-exposure imaging.
- Large bearing in the fork base for stable tracking, including operation on an optional wedge.
- StarBright XLT coating for high light transmission.
Fast setup with GPS and SkyAlign
The built-in 16-channel GPS receiver supplies the control electronics with the time, date and observing location. Celestron SkyAlign makes alignment straightforward: centre three bright stars, planets or the Moon and the mount calculates the alignment automatically. The database contains more than 40,000 celestial objects, including Messier, Caldwell and NGC targets, planets and user-defined objects. Identify and Solar System Align functions make it easy to explore the sky and align the telescope for daytime observation.
Stable CPC fork mount
The redesigned two-arm azimuth fork mount and the large 280 mm bearing in the base provide stable, low-vibration tracking at high magnification. The self-centering tripod interface, integrated bubble level and captive mounting screws allow quick setup in the dark. The mount provides illuminated controls, large clamping knobs, permanent periodic error correction, alignment sync and precise GoTo positioning. Motor and hand-controller software can be updated via the Internet. The electronics support common autoguiders and planetarium programs.
