Sky-Watcher Explorer 150PDS with EQ3 Pro SynScan GoTo 150/750

The Sky-Watcher Explorer 150PDS with EQ3 Pro SynScan combines a fast 150 mm f/5 Newtonian with a computerised equatorial mount. Its 750 mm focal length suits the Moon, planets and many deep-sky objects. The PDS optical tube is optimised for prime-focus imaging: it has a 2-inch Crayford focuser with 10:1 reduction and a tube shortened compared with the standard version. A matched coma corrector is available separately for improved photographic field correction.

The EQ3 Pro SynScan slews to selected celestial objects from its hand controller and can run guided tours. The package includes the tripod, counterweights, hand controller, motor control box and cables. The controller requires a suitable 12 V power source, which is not included. The mount is rated for up to 5 kg visual payload; the tube itself weighs about 5 kg. This leaves little capacity for a camera and imaging accessories, so a heavier mount may be preferable for demanding astrophotography.

Camera, coma corrector, power supply and batteries are not included.

Please note: For imaging, account for the total load including camera and accessories. Solar observing is safe only with a suitable filter securely fitted over the full aperture.
