Sky-Watcher SkyMax 127T Maksutov OTA 127/1500 mm

The Sky-Watcher SkyMax 127T is a compact Maksutov-Cassegrain optical tube with a 127 mm aperture and 1,500 mm focal length. Its f/11.8 focal ratio supports high-contrast, high-resolution views, making it particularly well suited to lunar craters, planetary detail and close double stars. Bright deep-sky objects are also within reach; the long focal length is less suited to imaging very faint nebulae and galaxies.

The closed catadioptric design folds the long optical path into a tube only about 33 cm long. The front meniscus lens uses Sky-Watcher's MHTC coating. The primary and secondary mirrors feature RAQ coatings rated at 94% reflectivity by the manufacturer. Focusing is performed by moving the primary mirror. An integrated T2 thread allows a compatible camera to be attached.

Although this is sold as an optical tube, the package already includes useful accessories: a red-dot finder, 1.25-inch diagonal, 10 mm and 20 mm eyepieces, and a smartphone adapter. The eyepieces provide approximately 150x and 75x magnification. A 45 mm dovetail rail is integrated. No mount or tripod is included; the 3.4 kg tube can be paired with a compatible mount.

Included: 127 mm Maksutov-Cassegrain optical tube, red-dot finder, 1.25-inch 90-degree diagonal, 10 mm and 20 mm eyepieces, and universal smartphone adapter (for devices approximately 54–90 mm wide). An erecting optic for terrestrial viewing is available separately.
