Sky-Watcher StarQuest DX102MC Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope

The Sky-Watcher StarQuest DX102MC is a compact Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope with a 102 mm aperture and 1300 mm focal length. Its long focal length and closed optical design make it well suited to detailed views of the Moon, planets and double stars. The multi-coated optics deliver high-contrast views in a portable tube.

The set includes two 1.25-inch eyepieces, 10 mm and 20 mm, providing 130x and 65x magnification. Under good atmospheric conditions, magnifications up to about 204x can be useful; actual sharpness depends on seeing and thermal acclimation. A 90-degree diagonal makes observing objects high in the sky more comfortable. The red-dot finder helps with aiming, and the smartphone holder supports simple afocal pictures through the eyepiece.

The manual StarQuest DX Deluxe equatorial mount has flexible slow-motion cables for right ascension and declination, allowing fine manual tracking after an object has been located. The adjustable stainless-steel tripod includes an accessory tray and a 1 kg counterweight. Mount payload capacity is up to 5 kg. Tracking is not motorized; the optional RA motor #20940 is not included. This is a visual observing set without GoTo.
