SkyWatcher Heritage-150P Virtuoso GTi 150 mm Wi-Fi GoTo Dobsonian Telescope

The SkyWatcher Heritage-150P Virtuoso GTi is a portable 150 mm Newtonian with a parabolic primary mirror and a motorised Dobsonian tabletop mount. Its 750 mm focal length at f/5 makes it a versatile observing instrument for the Moon and planets as well as star clusters, nebulae and galaxies. The collapsible FlexTube design makes the optical tube easier to store and transport.

The Virtuoso GTi mount has built-in Wi-Fi and is controlled with the SynScan app for iOS or Android. The mount creates its own Wi-Fi network, so it can be used without existing Wi-Fi or mobile service. After entering the observing location and alignment, the app can locate and track objects from a database of more than 10,000 entries. Freedom-Find dual encoders allow manual movement without losing the stored alignment.

The tabletop mount can be used on a stable surface. A 3/8-inch photographic thread on the underside also allows attachment to a separately purchased tripod. The optical tube and mount can be used separately. Supplied 25 mm and 10 mm eyepieces provide 30x and 75x magnification. A red-dot finder helps with initial aiming, and the helical 1.25-inch focuser is used to sharpen the image.

The optical tube weighs about 4 kg and the mount about 5 kg. A power supply or batteries are not included. Plan a suitable power source for the mount before observing.
